Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
yourmelody makes songs for the people you love. To keep it a kind place, this policy sets out what you can't ask us to make, how we check requests, how to report a song, and what we do when the rules are broken. It is part of our Terms of Service. If anything here is unclear, write to support@yourmelody.ai.
Content standards
You may not use yourmelody to create, or try to create, any of the following:
- Sexual or explicit content. No pornography, sexual content or NSFW material of any kind. This applies to every song, not just some.
- Violence and gore. No content that glorifies, threatens or encourages violence, self-harm, terrorism or cruelty, and no graphic gore.
- Hate speech. No content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar trait.
- Content that puts children at risk. No minors in any sexual context, ever. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and anything that sexualizes, grooms or endangers a child. We have zero tolerance: we remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- Deepfakes and impersonation. No content that pretends to be a real person, puts words in their mouth or passes itself off as them. This includes imitating a real artist's voice, name or style, or making a song that sounds like it was sung by a real person.
- Copyright and trademark infringement. No reproducing existing songs or lyrics, no using someone else's brand or trademark, and no content that infringes anyone's intellectual property, publicity or privacy rights.
A few more rules:
- Real people need to be treated fairly. Don't make a song about a real person without their consent where it would harass, bully, humiliate or defame them. Songs that celebrate someone are what we're here for.
- No illegal content, and nothing that encourages illegal activity.
- No misuse of the service. No spam or bulk generation, no attempts to trick the system into breaking these rules, and no passing off a song as something it isn't to deceive people.
Your responsibility for what you share
You're responsible for the names, stories and details you type into the questionnaire, and for any lyrics you edit. Only share what you have the right to share, and only share details about other people that you'd be comfortable with them seeing. Please don't include anyone's sensitive information, like health details, addresses or account numbers.
How we moderate
- An automated filter checks what you type. Everything you type is checked by an automated content filter before any lyrics are written. Requests it flags for sexual content, content involving minors, violence, hate, harassment or self-harm are refused.
- The lyrics model checks every request too. The details you give us are then reviewed by the AI model that writes the lyrics. It is instructed to refuse unsafe requests, attempts to imitate a real artist and attempts to reproduce an existing song, and when it refuses, no lyrics or song are made.
- What you type is treated as information, not instructions. Your questionnaire answers are used only as material for the song. Text that tries to change how the system behaves is ignored.
- The music step has its own checks. Our music model can also refuse lyrics or styles that break its content rules.
- People review reports. Every report sent to us is read and decided by a person on our team, not by an automated system.
- We may review flagged songs. When a song is reported, or a request is refused, we may look at that song, its lyrics and the details used to make it, so we can act and improve our checks.
No system is perfect, so we rely on you to tell us when something gets through.
Reporting content
If you see a song made with yourmelody that breaks this policy, or one that uses your name, voice or work without permission, please tell us.
- How: email support@yourmelody.ai with the subject "Report content".
- What to include: the link to the song, and a short reason why you're reporting it. If it's about your own rights, tell us how it affects you.
- What happens next: we acknowledge every report within 2 business days and act on it within 7 business days. If something involves a child's safety, we act on it as soon as we see it.
We keep your identity confidential and don't share it with the person you report. Each report gets a fair, independent look. Reports we find to be knowingly false or made to harass someone may lead to action against the reporting account.
Enforcement actions
When content or behavior breaks this policy, we may take one or more of these steps, depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before:
- Remove content. We delete the song, its lyrics and audio.
- Refuse generation. We decline to write or sing the song, or to make further songs from the same details.
- Suspend or terminate accounts. We may pause an account while we look into a report, or close it for serious or repeated violations. Content that puts children at risk always leads to the account being closed. Requests our filter flags for content involving minors are logged for review and may be reported to the authorities.
- Forfeit credits. Credits bought, obtained or used in violation of this policy may be forfeited without a refund.
- Report illegal content. We report illegal content, including CSAM, to the relevant authorities and cooperate with their investigations.
Appeals. If you think we got it wrong, email support@yourmelody.ai with the subject "Appeal" and tell us why. We'll take a fresh look and reply within 7 business days.
Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it applies.
